Christmas Apron

There is so much to do this time of year! I'm not getting as much sewing done as I would like. I did manage to finish this cute little Christmas apron. My daughter was kind enough to model it for us!
It was a panel and only took a couple of hours to make. It had to be cut out and hemmed all around the edges. The ties had to be finished and the pocket added.  Here is the panel I bought.

I bought the panel this past summer while on vacation. It was a fun project to make and I plan on wearing it during Christmas dinner. We have dinner at our house for our family. I hope to hear some nice comments about it!

On a sad note, our cat, Ricky, passed away. He was 15 1/2 years old. He died quite suddenly. It took me awhile to be able to write about him. He kept me company while the kids were at school. We're all quite upset about it. We'll miss him dearly.

So sorry about Ricky. At least he was having a good life right up until the very last minute.

  2. I'm so sorry to hear about Ricky! My cat, Pella, is also over 15 and the last couple days she has become very old. She almost can't get up into the sofa. It's so hard to take the decision when the loved animals don't have a pleasent life anymore.
    I love your apron!

    1. Thank you so much for understanding. Ricky was sick but not bad enough to think he was at the end of his life. He got up one morning, was playing, and just had a heart attack. We were in shock! He went so fast. I hope your kitty gets back to enjoying her life again. You know they have 9 lives!

    1. Thanks so much, April. It's so hard to not have Ricky around. My kids are in college and only come home weekends. My husband works long days. It's quite lonely around here. Ricky loved sitting on my quilts! Glad you like the apron and my quilt!

  6. Rosemary, my heatfelt sympathy to you and your family for Ricky. We lost our family pet in December, so I really feel your loss. I love the apron. I should be making gifts, but just can't quite get motivated. Hang in there!
