Sewing Day

I declared today a sewing day for me! This is how far I progressed on my scrap project. I'm not sure why but this last border that includes the blue-gray fabric took forever!! Sorry that the quilt top looks so wrinkled. I had it all nice and ironed and then the cats started sliding and playing with it!

Here's the border I attached earlier today. There are a few seams to match up but not as bad as the previous border. Maybe I'm just getting sick of little squares! I cut each square individually. I arranged the squares to balance out the colors. I didn't make strip sets. I sewed them as individual squares. I guess that's enough to drive anyone a little crazy!

I also made my 2 Churn Dash blocks for Sweet Tea and Green Beans quilt. Very fast and very scrappy!

Almost done machine quilting Farmgirl Vintage. I'll post pictures soon!

  3. Your Sweet Tea and Green Beans blocks are looking really sweet. I love the soft colors and just a little punch of brights in each block. I can understand why you would place and stitch each of those little squares individually, I'd do the same thing! If we're going to do all that work, might as well have it look pleasing to our own eyes, right?

  5. This is going to be an amazing scrappy quilt! Love it already! LOL on the cats! Our cat can't see fabric/blocks on the floor, he jumps straight into it and plays. Really 'fun' if there are small blocks or just fabric pieces, but what to do than LOL?! :)

  6. Thanks, Astrid! The cats love any type of fabric on the floor. They love to run and jump on it. All my work doesn't matter! Yes, laughing is about all you can do! Cats will be cats!! Haha!
