Today was our quilt guild's mystery ride. We have it twice a year, spring and fall. They rent a bus and we all meet quite early. We left around 9am for parts unknown! It's rather funny to see us all looking out the windows and trying to figure out where we're going to end up. It's always such a fun day.
Our first stop was at Quilter's Stash in North Attleboro, MA. It was a really nice quilt shop featuring a huge selection of Kaffe Fassett fabrics as well as many other collections. They had a room in the back with fabric marked down that had some great deals. They had some great samples with accompanying patterns. They had a vast amount of batiks. They were just gorgeous! I bought a few fabrics for a wall hanging I hope to make.
We also visited a store next door, Right at Home Scrapbooking. The organizer of our trip, Mary, always arranges for a Make and Take project. Today's project came from the scrapbooking store. We were to make 2 cards that show our love of quilting! I saved mine to make at home.
We grabbed lunch and ended up at Ryco's in Lincoln, Rhode Island. I had never heard of it. It looked like an old mill from the outside. This store was just amazing! We went inside and found there was a room for us to eat our lunch. On the way to our room, we saw tons of fabric displayed. There was a huge selection of fabric, notions and all sorts of trims. It was unbelievable.
These pictures don't do justice to the enormity of this store/warehouse! It was a quilter's dream! I bought fabric and a notion. I think it was bit overwhelming but I do always manage to find something to buy! I spent most of my time walking around the store and just trying to take it all in!
We got back to Tewksbury around 5pm. I think we were all rather tired. I came home and rested for a bit. I can never understand why bus trips make us tired. It's a nice tired. We got to be with friends and shop for our favorite activity. What else could we want??
I'm finally retired and feel I can do what I love. I'm so happy to be out of the rat race! I try to quilt, read and knit as much as possible. I love to get comments and will respond to each and every one! I hope you enjoy my little blog as much as I do! Thank you for visiting me!

ReplyDeleteI wish you could join me! Too bad you don't live closer.
DeleteThat is the best reason I can think of to belong to an actual quilt guild...a fun trip with other like-minded quilters. I have to depend on my bloggy friends for inspiration, but it would be great to be in a guild too.
ReplyDeleteGuilds are fun but also educational. I've learned so much from the various speakers as well as fellow guild members. I would never have visited those shops if I wasn't in the guild. Lots of quilt fun! Thanks for visiting my blog!
DeleteA day spent with quilters is always guaranteed to be fun. Can't wait to see what you create from all that inspiration.
