I'm finally retired and feel I can do what I love. I'm so happy to be out of the rat race! I try to quilt, read and knit as much as possible. I love to get comments and will respond to each and every one! I hope you enjoy my little blog as much as I do! Thank you for visiting me!

Scrap Quilt Top, Almost!
I'm so close to being done that I have the design wall all set up! I'm not done all the blocks just yet. I'm still working on those 4 more blocks that are made up of 4 mini blocks. I thought it would add some interest and break up the quilt. I will probably move these blocks around many more times until I decide the final layout.
The blocks are all cut and ready to be sewn together. They really don't take very long. They finish at
5 1/2 inches square. Very small and very fast!
And here are the mini blocks all ready to be made in larger blocks. I have a total of 16 mini blocks to make to complete the 4 larger blocks. Once these blocks are complete, I can start working on the final layout of the quilt. It's such fun to use those old scraps to make a new quilt!
Molly has been quite fresh lately. You can see for yourself! #catshaming

I found the 2012 Christmas Quilt Show and just had to add my own Christmas projects! My main project is the above quilt. It's only ...
A lovely colourful quilt to make from smaller pieces of our fabrics.
ReplyDeleteNaughty Molly! We once had a very tame rabbit who was allowed into the house Christmas Day and promptly chewed through the cord for the Christmas tee lights, luckily he lived for me to tell the tale.
Thank you very much! I'm afraid she's going to bite through some of the electrical cords. I'm trying to unplug some things but I can't unplug everything! I'll just have to keep a close eye on her!!
DeleteLove your scrappy quilt. My plan is to work on scraps this year, not sure that will work out, plans seem to fail all the time! :) Molly has to be careful! One of our dogs did the same when she was a puppy, had to unplug almost everything and keep an eye on her all the time.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Astrid. I keep saying I'm going to use up all my scraps but they seem to multiply all the time! I'm so afraid Molly is going to bite through an electrical cord. I'm trying to watch her but it's hard to see what she's doing 24 hours a day!
Deletelove those little blocks. scraps are fun! dont let Molly talk to Dunkin. he gets into enough trouble as it is! hee hee
ReplyDeleteMolly sounds like she wants something to play with. if she is anything like Dunkin, he has his own toybox FULL of toys. worse than a kid! LOL
I love using up my scraps. Just so many of them! Molly does have lots of toys! Would rather play with other stuff like cords!! She does tear her toys apart. I have to throw most of them out. So fresh!
DeleteWow a great pattern to use up scraps. I have more than enough scraps. I will have to remember this pattern for a quilt someday. LOL I am still trying to complete many UFOs. Don't you love it when our furry friends are playful? But of course not with our wires. So glad Cassie isn't a chewer. Thanks for stopping by my blog! Always so nice when you visit. Well happy sewing and arranging your blocks. I will be looking forward to the end results.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Joanie! It's a fun project but I don't think I even made a dent in my scrap pile. I'm trying to remove as many cords as possible. I've never had a pet who likes to chew through cords! I guess they're all different! Hope you're enjoying Leap Day!!
