Can you see what I did?? In the bottom picture, you can see my loopy design in the black and white chevrons. I ripped it out and just stitched 1/4 inch away from the seam line. I like it so much better!
I like the loops but I don't think that was the right place for that design. I tried to ignore it but my eye just kept going back to it. I decided to just rip it out and do it over. It took over an hour to rip out but about 15 minutes to quilt. Definitely worth it!
I also quilted these radiating lines in the black and gray triangles. I really love the look of straight lines with this quilt. I like have some curved designs but the straight lines seem to reinforce the strong lines of the actual pieced pattern.
I just sewed the binding on this today. I machine quilted it with a simple big meander. I can't wait to hang this up for Halloween!
Have a nice weekend!!
Your quilting is lovely--and your wall hanging is super cute...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Julierose! I worked a few days in a row and it felt good to start sewing again!
DeleteI hate ripping but it is worth it. Love your piece
ReplyDeleteThank you, Yanicka! Thanks for the nice comment and for visiting my blog!
DeleteI think you made a good choice to replace the loopy quilting because you will be happier with it. I like the radiating lines.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Em! I think it looks so much better. Much happier now!
Deletethis is gorgeous. you are so talented. I like the way you are quilting it. that is the hardest part. "quilt as desired" LOL
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! Quilt as desired are awful words!! Haha!
DeleteIt takes a while to figure out what to do but I'm taking it slow. I'm about ready to start the 3rd hexagon block.
