Basket Case

Just a quick post to show you my latest quilt top! It's Basket Case by Cluck Cluck Sew. I used the Honey Honey fabric line from Kate Spain. It measures 61" by 71". It's happy and bright and reminds me of spring. That's a good thing since it's snowing, again! My daughter really loves this quilt so I think she'll be the one who ends up with it! It's a great pattern where the strips really look like they're weaving in and out.

Here's the top with just one border. That second border really helps frame the pattern. One border wouldn't have been enough. So glad I bought that fabric when it was still available.

I have to make more progress with my machine quilting. I have a few tops to quilt so I'm going to stop piecing and get moving on the quilting!

Hope it stops snowing one of these days...........

    1. Thanks so much! It was a fun quilt to make. How did you make out with all the snow?? I'm so tired of this weather. I did hear we may hit the 50's next weekend. Sounds wonderful to me!

  2. So pretty and fresh looking! I can see why your daughter has claimed it as it says spring! Love he woven look. I think we all are longing for spring after this past winter. Though we most likely haven't had as much snow as you'all in your part of the country we had several days of wintery mix last week. This time it hasn't melted by noon the next day. It is still lingering some because of low temps. I guess you will have another great weekend for quilting!

    1. Thank you, Joanie! It was nice to work on something that reminded me of spring while the snow was falling! I can't wait for warmer weather. I'm sure the snow is just as bothersome for you. It has given me more time to sew and quilt! I guess there's always an upside!

  3. Great choice on the double border. Posting pics of both really shows how much of a difference it makes.
    Happy Quilting!

  4. I love your concept here...and interestingly enough, the pattern is very close to one I am hand quilting that I call GARDEN PATHS. Your colors are really lovely. Good work on this one!
