Applique Block

No automatic alt text available.

I haven't done much since the holidays. I did manage to finish this applique block for Green Tea and Sweet Beans quilt by Jen Kingwell. I already have the next applique block all ready to sew. That's all the progress I've made for this quilt lately. The holidays are just too busy!

I worked the whole New Year's weekend but have had the last few days off. It's been so nice to stay home and get my house back to normal. The tree is gone along with the other Christmas decorations. I've also caught up on my sleep and feel as though my energy level is back.

I have been quilting the black diamonds on the Arcadia Avenue quilt. I'm almost ready to start the next hexagon block.

Getting a few things done, a little bit at a time. Not bad for the holidays!

  1. Like you, after I got the tree down and decorations stowed till next Christmas, I've been trying to catch up on some sleep as well as doing some puttering around with things that needed some attention. In the evenings during TV time with hubby, I've been diligently hand piecing a GFG quilt that's been a WIP for too long. When I'm not in the mood to do that, I knit on a scarf I recently started. Happy New Year to you.

    1. The holidays seem to suck up all our energy! I think it's so restful to sit on the couch and do hand work. Hoping for a wonderful 2017 for all of us!!

  3. Those are cute and fun little flowers. It's nice to have a "sit-in-front-of-the-TV" project to turn to after an afternoon with the longarm.

    1. Thank you, Julierose! I'm so glad your eyes are almost back to normal. My mom went through the same process. She couldn't believe how well she could see after healing. Your husband will be glad when it's all over. Get the blocks ready!!
