Snow and Quilting

Well, we survived the storm! I've heard differing amounts but it's safe to say we got around 20" of snow. This is a picture of the end of my driveway. It's difficult backing into the street. You can't see much with those mounds of snow on either side. I move very slowly! I've been indoors since Saturday. I did go to the grocery store and my mother's house. It's so cold! I was happy to get home.

I did get some sewing done. The pink round is all sewn onto Facets. Now I'm working on the last full round. It's turquoise with yellow middles and magenta little triangles. I have to make a total of 52 blocks! This is definitely going to take awhile! I'm very comfortable making this block and it doesn't take me very long.

The weather is expected to stay cold with a possible snowstorm Sunday evening. I'm trying to block that out for now until the forecasters get a better idea if it's really coming. I'm not sure where we'll put the snow if we get this storm. There's no space left!!!

  1. That new round will be so lovely--a beautiful quilt in all!! ;))))
Where do we even think of putting more snow? Our poor plow guy finally made it to shovel us out...So now the front and garage doors are cleared....makes me feel a lot better.
And I look out and what do I see--snowing again!! So far about one inch.....AAArgh!! Stay warm....

    1. Thanks, Julierose! I'm so used to making these blocks I think I can make them in my sleep! Where are we going to put more snow?? I can't believe you got more today. And the temperatures are way too cold. Actually, 32 sounds pretty toasty right about now!!!

  2. Beautiful blocks, Rosemary. 20" is a lot of snow! I've had my share of snow, cold and icy roads (Norway), I do not miss it at all. We are expecting thunderstorms the next two days. Stay inside, stay warm.

    1. Thank you, Astrid! I'm sure Norway is way more snowy than New England! The temperatures are really cold for us this year too. I will definitely stay home and sew!

  3. That is an incredible amount of snow, Rosemary. I sure hope the next storm doesn't add too much to it. I like the colors in the new Facets blocks. So many tiny pieces but, you are good at those!

    1. Thanks, Jeanna! I'm so comfortable with these blocks now. I hope that storm misses us this weekend. We have too much snow out there and don't need anymore.
