Is it Spring yet?

Image may contain: table and indoor

The weather was so nice today but there's a nasty storm heading our way. I thought I would defy the elements and display my lovely table runner.

The colors remind me so much of spring. It actually made me feel better when I put it on the table!

I quilted it with allover feathers. It was fun to just doodle feathers any way I liked!

Just a couple of close ups of the fun slab blocks. I can't take credit for this one. The blocks were made by my blogging friends. Two of the blocks were made by Dawn whose blog you can find here. Her blog is full of lots of info and helpful posts. Also, Julierose made a block for me. You can access her blog right here. She's so artistic. I'm in awe of her talent.

On Ringo Lake Quilt Finished!!

Image may contain: indoor

It's done!! That last seam took awhile but I finished it! It's certainly not perfect. There are so many pieces and seams, not everything lines up perfectly. I'm happy with it.

I plan on adding 2 borders. I feel it needs a little something to frame it. I'm not sure how I'll quilt it but I'll think of something! Right now, I'm just happy to know it's finished!

I took my mother on a little field trip yesterday. We visited a local yarn shop. She doesn't knit but she had fun helping me pick out some yarn for a couple of future projects. This is the yarn we ended up with!

Quilt Shopping Spree

Image may contain: text

I've been drooling over this fabric for awhile. It's the Lemon Tree Collection by Tilda. I wanted to buy a fat quarter bundle from Fat Quarter Shop but it was out of stock. As soon as it was back, I grabbed it! I just love the colors and beautiful patterns. The colors are so rich and coordinate so well! I'm very happy I got it when I did!

I also bought this pattern. I love the idea of making a rug from jelly rolls. You could even make the strips yourself from whatever yardage you have at home. I can't wait to try!

I have a few things to finish first but I have lots of nice stuff to look forward to! I'll post when I start using these items.

More Longarm Quilting

No automatic alt text available.

Here's my latest longarm project. It's also another table runner from the Longarm Quilting Workbook by Teresa Silva. You can see where I formed an outline and quilted different designs within that framework.

This is a closeup of my pebbles. They didn't take as long as I thought they would. I love the texture and the look of pebbles. Dense quilting really makes the quilt!

This is the piece after being trimmed and binding sewn on. I think it will look better after those blue lines are gone!

Just a photo of the back. I love this fabric! I think the quilting makes the back look so pretty!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

Image may contain: indoor

Happy Valentine's Day! This is the Sweetheart Table Topper I made a few years ago. It was a free pattern from Jaybird Quilts that you can find here. It didn't take long to make. I love taking it out every Valentine's Day. My cats love sitting on it too! There's always a little fur I have to clean off of it.

Today is also my son's birthday! He's going to be 26 years old. How did that happen?? Anyways, I bought birthday gifts as well as Valentine's Day gifts today. I should  shop earlier but I always seem to wait for the last minute.

Enjoy the holiday! Don't eat too much chocolate!

Winter Storm On Ringo Lake

No automatic alt text available.

I was inside for most of today due to a snowstorm. I did get out early before the storm started just to run a quick errand. I thought it was the perfect time to work On Ringo Lake! As you can see, each half has another row. Just one row left for each half!!

Just a closer view of one of the quilt corners. Not every seam matches up. I've tried so hard not to cut off any points. Just don't look too closely! There are just so many seams! I think it looks good overall and I'm happy with it. There is one more link up for On Ringo Lake on the Quiltville blog that you can find here. You'll be able to see all the other quilts that have been made from this mystery. It's so amazing to see how different they are. Some quilters changed colors, size and setting.

Here's my driveway this afternoon! So glad I could stay in and not drive through this mess. Hope driving is better tomorrow.

Superbowl Knitting

Image result

Are you getting ready to watch the Super Bowl? I'm trying to get my housework and laundry all done so I can sit and watch the game with my family. I'm not a big football fan but it's fun to watch. We're getting Chinese food instead of making a ton of appetizers. I'm hoping my mother comes over and has a little fun with us today.

I've been working on this shawl for awhile now and I'm just starting to see the pattern.  I'm hoping you can make it out in this picture. It's worked from the top down. The "top" is just the garter stitch so it's definitely getting more interesting now that I'm on the actual lace pattern.

This picture is just another view of the shawl. I'm hoping to make some progress on the shawl during the game. I think football and knitting will go together very well!

Go Patriots!!

On Ringo Lake Progress

No automatic alt text available.

Here's my progress so far! On Ringo Lake has been growing! I'm working on two opposite corners at the same time. It hasn't been too bad so far but now that the rows are getting longer, it's much more time consuming.

No automatic alt text available.

I'll get the blocks all set up but will be working on one side at a time in the future. The rows are getting long!

No automatic alt text available.

Each side needs one row of 7 blocks and one row of 9 blocks. Only 4 rows left! Four very long rows!
So far, so good! I'm working the next few days so I won't be able to work on this until next week. I think the break is actually a good thing. There are so many seams to match up that a little rest works out well!
