Easter Table Topper

The Easter table topper is almost finished! It's been quilted and the binding has been sewn on. It measures 30" X 30".  It's made of fun and vibrant Easter/Spring fabrics. This is for my friend who was my college roommate for years. She's the only one I still keep in touch with after all these years.

I started quilting this on Sunday. I wasn't sure exactly what I was going to do with the quilting but it came to me as I started quilting it.

I quilted this star in the center block. It's hard to see on that plaid fabric, but it's there! Time to sew down the binding. I really have to learn to sew down the binding using my machine. One of these days I'll try it!!

    1. Thank you! She became one of my best friends and it's only because we lived right next door to each other in the dorm.

  2. That is a lovely gift for your friend, Rosemary. The quilting is fantastic. I have a special foot for my machine that I use when I machine sew on the binding. I can't, for the life of me, remember which one it is. Hmmm...now I'll go down the rabbit hole of trying to figure it out.

  4. This is so pretty, such gentle colours together, Rosemary. How sweet to be giving to a long time friend. I've kept in touch with university friends on facebook which has been good for that.
