Alaska is off the frame! The quilting is done! This is the most challenging quilting I've attempted. Most of this quilting design is from the HandiQuilter website. One of the educators showed how she used the design to come up with a quilting plan. I changed some of the designs. I love her use of feathers so I kept that. The border is a little different too. This is such a gorgeous quilt that I wanted the quilting to really show it off. I think I accomplished that!
The binding is all ready to be sewn. I'm going to try and get that done some time tomorrow. I just hope I can find the time to do it.
Anyone else in New England feel the earthquake this morning?? It happened around 10:22am. I was sewing and thought it was a truck going by the house. When everything seemed to be rattling, I wasn't so sure it was a truck! Turns out it was an earthquake centered off the coast of Maine. I think it measured 3.8 on the Richter scale. Scary!
Your quilting is so gorgeous;))) What a lovely quilt this is, Rosemary.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work...
We didn't feel any earthquake motion here...but that is a pretty big one
for around the NE I think...Hugs, Julierose
Thank you! Yes, I think the earthquake was a little stronger than what we usually get. I'm glad there weren't any aftershocks.
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Rosemary! Both the quilt and quilting is outstanding, so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThank you for such a nice comment, Astrid!
DeleteThe top itself is a beauty but the quilting makes it stunning, Rosemary. Great job!! The month after we moved into our new house, we experienced our first earthquake...followed by seven more over the course of two months. They ranged from 1 point something to 3.2. The U.S. Geological folks say an old fault line has become active. That was in 2023 and we haven't had any earthquake activity since.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanna! Earthquakes can be so scary! I guess we're just not used to them which is a good thing. I don't want anymore!
DeleteI enlarged your photos to take a closer look. Wow it is so beautiful and you are right, your quilting lines just make the design shine! Another beauty!
ReplyDeleteJocelyn, you are too nice! Thank you so much!!
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteThe quilting is amazing! The whole thing looks terrific. We were in a spot that didn't feel the earthquake, but my sister did down in Amherst. Wow!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Sally! The earthquake was not a very big one but I still found it to be scary!
