My daughter asked me to make her a nice thick scarf for the winter. I found this pattern in one of my knitting books. It's a celtic scarf full of cables. I was following the pattern and noticed an error so I fixed that in the book. Other than that, it's a pretty straight forward pattern. You just have to follow those different cables to get that nice Aran effect. That's my version on the bottom of the picture.
This is the yarn I bought from KnitPicks. That's a great site to buy yarn at really good prices. This scarf is supposed to be 81" long according to the pattern but I doubt mine will be that long. I think this one will take me a little while! It's a nice project to work on during this cool and crisp Autumn days.

I used to get all my yarn from Knit Picks --neat site--that is a very pretty pattern--I always loved cabling...very satisfying --;))) hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julierose! It should be a nice scarf once I'm done.

DeleteThis is a beautiful scarf, Rosemary!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Linda!
DeleteThat is a beautiful scarf! I used to knit a lot when I lived in Norway, to keep warm during the winters. I've always loved cables, my favorite knitting pattern.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Astrid! It's a slow knitting project since there are so many cables but it's coming out great so far.
DeleteGorgeous scarf, Rosemary. All those cables!! I ordered some things from KnitPicks a long time ago. Good to know they are still around.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanna! Without JoAnn's around, I have no place near me to buy yarn. This site seems to be the best for me.
