I finished an Easter table runner over the weekend. I had bought the cutest Easter fabrics and wanted to make something that would showcase the fabrics. I own all three books of the Tabletastic series by Doug Leko and knew I'd find something to make. So I settled on this pattern called Windsor. It measures about 17.5" X 42".
I cut the background fabric first. I had bought this fabric about a year ago and forgot I had it! I thought it would be perfect with these blocks. It's white with a little confetti thrown on it. It's not too bright but festive enough with the Easter fabrics. Each block measures 8" square finished,
It took a little while to figure out how to set up the blocks but I came up with something I liked. I put everything together but the borders. The borders and sashing finish at 1". I can't do too much quilting in them but I'll think of something! I'll be quilting it soon. I'm going to make a quick table topper for a friend using the same fabrics. Then, I'll quilt them together. I'll post more pictures soon!
Such a lovely, soft, pastel Easter table topper, Rosemary--the colors all say "Spring" for sure...nice work...rainy and gray here yet again today...
ReplyDeleteI need some sunshine;!! Hugs, Julierose
Thanks so much, Julierose! I really loved making this table runner using these fun fabrics. I think it cheered me up! It's definitely way too cold today. Keep warm!
DeleteThat is a beautiful runner, Rosemary. Glad you were able to get it finished before Easter...I knew you would :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeanna! This was definitely a quick project. Time to quilt it now! I'm still trying to figure out what to do!
DeleteThe blocks are great and beautifully put together.
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to No. 2 and especially to seeing how you quilt the two runners... I'm no expert at quilting and am always on the lookout for simple quilting projects.
I hope you enjoy sewing and send you my warmest regards—from a woman at the sewing machine to a like-minded person.
Best, Viola.
Thank you! It's so nice to meet you, Viola! It's wonderful to hear from another sewing lover! I'm trying to decide how to quilt my new projects. I'll definitely be posting pictures. I hope to hear from you soon!
