Windsor Easter Table Runner

I finished an Easter table runner over the weekend. I had bought the cutest Easter fabrics and wanted to make something that would showcase the fabrics. I own all three books of the Tabletastic series by Doug Leko and knew I'd find something to make. So I settled on this pattern called Windsor. It measures about 17.5" X 42".

I cut the background fabric first. I had bought this fabric about a year ago and forgot I had it! I thought it would be perfect with these blocks. It's white with a little confetti thrown on it. It's not too bright but festive enough with the Easter fabrics. Each block measures 8" square finished,

It took a little while to figure out how to set up the blocks but I came up with something I liked. I put everything together but the borders. The borders and sashing finish at 1". I can't do too much quilting in them but I'll think of something! I'll be quilting it soon. I'm going to make a quick table topper for a friend using the same fabrics. Then, I'll quilt them together. I'll post more pictures soon!

  3. The blocks are great and beautifully put together.
I'm looking forward to No. 2 and especially to seeing how you quilt the two runners... I'm no expert at quilting and am always on the lookout for simple quilting projects.
I hope you enjoy sewing and send you my warmest regards—from a woman at the sewing machine to a like-minded person.
    Best, Viola.
