I Like Thursday #52

It's Thursday! It's time for a fun post! If you'd like to see more uplifting posts, go visit LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color. This picture shows my 6 completed Pineapple Blocks. They are so fun to make. I love using the Pineapple Trimmer ruler by Creative Grids. I love the accuracy as well as the ease of use.

These two blocks are still in progress. I'm actually getting faster at piecing them. I love going through my scraps. I'm not sure why but I find it enjoyable!

I finished the binding on Carolina Chain. Lily promptly got under the quilt. Molly came in looking for her! I think she's waiting for her to come out!

I saw this on Instagram. I might start doing it although I haven't even attempted it yet. I guess it doesn't take very long. I'll let you know if I do it!

That's it for me. Our state has relaxed our stay at home orders. I'm still staying home. I'm waiting to see what happens. It gives me more time to quilt! The hospital is much quieter. So happy about that! Have a nice long weekend. I'll be working. (as usual)

  1. Hi Rosemary! I am beginning to think I'm getting a sign. A sign that I need to make a pineapple block quilt! Your blocks are gorgeous, and you are at least the third friend that is making this block now. Our state has relaxed the stay home orders as well, but we're not venturing out yet. Grocery shopping - that's it. I don't have to return to work yet . . . thankfully. ~smile~ Roseanne

    1. Thanks, Roseanne! I love making the Pineapple Block. It's easy once you get the hang of it. I'd rather be safe than sorry so I'll stay home and see how things go.

  7. love a pineapple quilt! My friend Cindy likes that ruler too, gotta check it out. I got Gyleen Fitzgeralds ruler but can't figure out how to use it! The states may be opening up but nothing is safer yet... or will be for a while. Someone said we could meet as we have less than 10 people. I said, that's just to slow the spread as one person can infect 10 in a minute! It's not safe, it's just an acceptable sickness rate! LeeAnna

    1. I agree, LeeAnna. I think we should stay home as much as we can. At least, for the time being. I figured out this ruler pretty quickly. Rulers are too expensive to be too hard to use. Stay healthy!

  8. Sure pineapple blocks are fun to do. I just finished 63 of them. I also love going through my scraps to find treasures to put into my blocks.

  9. Lily and Molly know a pretty quilt when they see one. Both quilts are beautiful.

  10. I do love seeing these blocks and I guess you recommend the special ruler. Accuracy is an issue for me. I always enjoy working with scraps...a certain sense of freedom. Lovely kittie.

    1. Thanks, Jocelyn! Yes, I like this ruler. I love the accuracy when paper pieceing but hate taking the paper out. This ruler is a great alternative.
